G.B. Ch., Ir. Ch. & Int. Ch. Tombezi Gypsy Girl
Eddie and Gail Patterson started in Rhodesian Ridgebacks in 1988. Our first rigeback was
Ch Melrose Shareef Dancer. This much loved and missed bitch paved the way for Rocksham Rhodesian Ridgebacks. In 1990, with the assistantance of Mrs Molly O'Driscoll and the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Ireland, we imported a dog from Bill and Joey Howard, of the Rockridge Kennels, South Africa, Rockridge Columbus, known to us a Columbo.
In 1994, Columbo sired his one and only litter. Out of which we kept a bitch, little did we know that she would become Irelands top winning Rhodesian Ridgeback,GB Ch, Ir Ch& Int Ch Tombezi Gypsy Girl, thank you to our good friend Mr Tommy Boyle (Tombezi) for taking the chance.
Gypsy is, to date, the only Rhodesian Ridgeback to take top honors at an All Breed Championship Show in Ireland, Best in Show at Drogheda in 1996.
Gypsy has produced two litters. Those puppies that have entered the show ring have had some success:-
Rockshan Rio at Kylini CC Bitch at the National Hound Show in 2000
Rocksham Moonshine 7 Green stars and numerous Res Green Stars, well on his way to his title.
Rocksham Irish Mist many Res Green Stars, she often stood behind her mum
And the latest Rocksham Kelder at just over the year she has already 3 Green Stars.
We are planning to have a litter later this year, dare we hope for another Gypsy?
